INVITATION TO A PUBLIC HEARING

Pursuant to Section 10(2) and Section 11 of the Competition and Fair Trading Act, the Competition and Fair Trading Commission will hold a Public Hearing on Monday 21 August 2017 at Mount Soche Hotel in Blantyre from 1400hrs.

During the public hearing, the Commission will receive detailed investigation reports containing provisional findings of the cases that the CFTC Secretariat has been investigating. The schedule of cases to be considered at the public hearing is as follows:

• Report on Alleged unconscionable conduct and quoting in foreign currency without authorisation by MultiChoice Malawi Limited

• Report on Alleged Supply of products likely to cause injury to health or physical harm to consumers by Bwenzi Group Ltd

• Report on Alleged Supply of products likely to cause injury to health or physical harm to consumers by SR Distilleries Ltd

• Report on Alleged Supply of products likely to cause injury to health or physical harm to consumers by Reddy's Beverages Ltd

• Report on Alleged Supply of products likely to cause injury to health or physical harm to consumers by Chilwa Investment Ltd

The CFTC is therefore inviting any person or enterprise, who in their opinion, will be affected or are likely to be affected by the findings of the investigations carried out by the CFTC, to make a written request to be heard during the hearing.
